India exported smartphones worth $4.7 billion in April-July this fiscal, following a six-fold jump in shipments to the US, which emerged as the biggest destination for India-made devices, official data showed.
Smartphone exports to the US jumped to $1.7 billion during the first four months of this fiscal against $284.6 million a year ago, the data showed. The US accounted for one-third of the shipments in value terms, and was followed by the UAE ($836 million), the Netherlands ($379 million), the UK ($336 million), Italy ($246 million), and the Czech Republic ($230 million).
India’s export of smartphones in FY23 was nearly $11 billion. During April-July FY24, exports doubled over the previous year.
