Stock market declines in early trade; Sensex dips 165.44 points to 72,548.72 points, Nifty below 22, 100 | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Stock market started in red on Tuesday, losing positive momentum from the previous trading day. Sensex, started trading 165.44 points lower at 72,548.72. Similarly, Nifty opened 45.40 points down at 22,061.00.
Among Nifty companies, 17 witnessed gain while 33 saw decline. Notable gainers included Kotak Bank, Power Grid, Apollo Hospitals, UPL, and Dr.Reddy, whereas Eicher Motors, Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Auto, M&M, and HDFC Life were among the top losers.
Despite the initial slide, market analysts expects fluctuations in market throughout the day. In earlier trading session, Sensex and Nifty saw gains for the fifth consecutive session, with Nifty reaching an intraday all-time high.
Sensex concluded at 72,708.16, marking a rise of 281.52 points, while Nifty 50 settled at 22,122.25, up by 81.55 points or 0.37 percent.
Meanwhile, Asian shares remained subdued, with MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan retreating 0.1 percent from its recent peak in January. South Korean shares experienced a decline of 1 percent.
Market sentiment is anticipated to be influenced by economic indicators, ongoing geopolitical tensions, and recovering demand in China, which should maintain oil prices near three-week highs.
